Production of components and sub-assemblies.Two of the trainees take their final exams at the beginning of next
year after three and a half years’ training. This well established training program focusses on
turning and machine tool technology. The theoretical parts of the course
are taken in the technical college and the company’s modern training

technology, electropneumatics and preparation for the fork-lift license.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that Saint-Gobain offers jobs in the
enterprise to these well-trained young people – order situation

talented young people who have been through a first-class training scheme.
Over the last few years trainees from Saint-Gobain Diamond Tools have
achieved marks at the top of their class, well equipping them for jobs
      within German-speaking Europe and internationally.
People with a sound training as an industrial mechanic, coupled with
further education in process technology, engineering or electronics, are
in high demand by employers. The wide variety of job opportunities and the

ceramic-bonded diamond wheels directly on the production machine. Previously
this had to be done as a dry grinding process with “soft” SiC tools on separate
machines. The new "Diamond-Dressing System" (DDS) from Saint-Gobain
Abrasives profiles V+ wheels without time-consuming tool changes. This is made
possible with new Winter diamond dressing wheels which achieve significantly
better roughness and notchiness – and with considerable savings in time and
costs as well. The dressed diamond wheels are ready for use without any
additional sharpening being required.

Ceramic bonded WINTER-CBN abrasive discs:

Quantum leaps with big machining quantitiesCeramic bonded CBN abrasive discs
are conquering new areas of application. In combination with engineering geared
to application, innovative machine concepts, control and measurement
technologies, the tools are optimised for their relevant area of application.
They are thus ideal wherever large quantities of material have to be removed,
e.g. working with iron materials. Winter-CBN abrasive discs from Saint-Gobain
Abrasives achieve quantum leaps compared to previously used tools regarding
surface finish, productivity and savings in time and costs. The reason is the
combination of CNC controlled diamond dressing wheels and the self-developed TDC
(Touch Dressing of CBN).

Cost effective silicone block cutting

Saint-Gobain Diamantwerkzeuge works closely with the solar and silicone chip industries.
The tools used here must be exactly right for the application. This includes the

bronze instead of the previously used galvanic bonding. This makes it possible

around a 200% extension of the operating life, Winter's "Tiger" diamond grinding
wheel has already revolutionised the tooth-face grinding of carbide tipped
circular saw blades in the narrowest chip space. "Tiger II", the newly developed
follow-up generation, has the power of its predecessor, but applies the
outstanding capabilities even more accurately. An innovative aluminium base
provides additional rigidity to the grinding wheel, and a modified coating
enables considerably shorter machining times by full pressure grinding.
